The Lighthouse

Welcome to ‘The Lighthouse’, this is our specialist Secondary Provision for pupils in Year 7-11 with additional needs. The pupils follow a personalised curriculum which meets their individual needs.  Some pupils transition to our Secondary Provision based at Sharples School and others stay in The Lighthouse at the Thomasson Memorial Primary site until the end of Year 11.

The Lighthouse’s aim is to enable pupils to enjoy all aspects of school and the wider community and to develop communication skills to support interaction with other pupils and staff.  There is a strong emphasis on the development of social and educational skills to enable students to be able to make appropriate ‘life choices’ when they leave school.
