We are a service supporting children and young people from 0-25 with a sensory impairment. We work closely with their families, their early years settings, schools, colleges and universities. We offer this support from the time of diagnosis, often when a baby is a few days old.
Service staff include teachers of visual impairment and teachers of the deaf. As part of our team we also employ specialist teaching assistants. We also have an Audiologist and a Mobility Officer who work across the school and service.
Some children have both vision impairment and hearing impairment and may be supported by both a Teacher of the Visually Impaired and a Teacher of the Deaf.
We are commited to provide the best support and advice by ensuring our staff are up to date with new developments and have specialist qualifications and skills to provide the best quality service.
Children are supported at home and in a range of settings: Early Years, Mainstream, Specialist provision, further and higher education.
